The Circle of Life

Three years. Three volumes. And now my watch has ended. But in every end, there`s a new beginning. Especially in spring. And in the Rhine, the first Coot chicks have hatched.

Three years ago

Three years ago today, it was so cold that ice was floating in Konstanz harbor. Rare enough around here, and also a meaningful coincidence. Because back then, I was plotting the story of my ice barons Katya, Grischa, Christian, and Thilo.

Three years later, it’s already springlike, and I’m about a month away from writing the final sentence of this saga.

My song of ice and sea, storm and fire and new horizons. And of being human in all its facets.

Back from Hamburg

Home again. Blisters on my feet after having walked for kilometers in my characters’ shoes, mind and heart full of fresh impressions, images and thoughts. With research material, some nostalgia, my favorite coffee and this beautiful Tibetan guy to watch over the new manuscript and new ideas.

Unseasonable

While summer has finally arrived, my mind is fully occupied with the beauty of snowflakes.
Pure poetry.
